Some of these auctions are contingent on the completion of rulemaking actions at the agency. Specifically, during the first quarter of 1998, the WTB tentatively plans to auction: 220 MHz Service: This auction will consist of 908 licenses in the Phase II 220 MHz service, with three nationwide, 30 Regional Economic Area Groupings ("REAGs") and 875 Economic Area ("EA") licenses. Paging Service (929 and 931 MHz): This auction will consist of 2,754 licenses to provide Common Carrier Paging ("CCP," with 37 channels offered) and Private Carrier Paging ("PCP," with 17 channels offered) services in the 929 and 931 MHz bands. One license will be granted for each channel in 51 Major Trading Areas ("MTAs") authorizing service on unpaired 25 kHz channels of spectrum. The list below are additional services that potentially will be auctioned in 1998. Some of these services are subject to the outcome of rulemaking proceedings or resolution of other contingent matters prior to auction.
