The non-exclusive
nationwide license is a required prerequisite for registering fixed sites and base stations.
Beginning on November 15, 2007, licensees will be able to register fixed sites and base stations using the Form 601
Schedule M through the
Universal License System (ULS).
Note, however that registration is contingent on the availability of certified equipment. (As of November 15, 2007, the FCC has certified restricted equipment for
operation in the lower 25 megahertz (3650-3675 MHz). Licensees may not file station registrations for unrestricted equipment that can operate on all 50 megahertz
(3650-3700 MHz) until the FCC has certified unrestricted equipment for the 3650 MHz band).
The public may search on the availability of certified equipment through the
OET Equipment Authorization Database.
To register a station, the licensee will need to provide specific technical details including whether the equipment uses a
restricted or unrestricted protocol, the FCC Equipment Identification number (FCC ID number),
the base or fixed station’s location (latitude and longitude), and other technical parameters,
e.g., EIRP,
and antenna height above ground. The public can access all registered fixed sites and base stations through
ULS License Search.
Further information about registering fixed sites and base stations is provided in
