Amendment of Part 90 of the Rules in 904-909.75 and 919.75-928 MHz Bands
In March 2006, the Commission, through a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking, began a proceeding to a re-exam its rules governing the licensing and use of frequencies in the 904.75 and 919.75-928 MHz portions of the 902-928 MHz band. This spectrum has been historically occupied by a number of different spectrum users including federal, licensed, unlicensed operations and since 1995 it has been licensed for specified uses by the multilateration Locations and Monitoring Service (M-LMS). Through this examination the Commissions seeks to determine whether new approaches could produce more efficient and effective use of the 904-909.75 and 99.75-928 MHz spectrum band ("M-LMS Band") licenses.
