            ADDENDUM TO PUBLIC NOTICE, DA 97-2222, 
     ANNOUNCING QUALIFIED BIDDERS IN THE OCTOBER 28, 1997, 
            800 MHz SPECIALIZED MOBILE RADIO AUCTION
                                
                                
     By this Public Notice, we add an additional applicant qualified to bid in the auction for
525 licenses to provide 800 MHz Specialized Mobile Radio (SMR) Service, scheduled to begin
October 28, 1997.  

     Specifically, the applicant Castle Tower Corporation (PR), FCC Account Number
0161151147, is added to the list of qualified bidders for the 800 MHz SMR auction.  Castle
Tower was omitted from the list of qualified bidders and included in the list of non-qualified
applicants.  This applicant filed a timely short-form application (FCC Form 175) that was
accepted for filing and made a timely deposit of an upfront payment in the amount of $181,194,
creating a maximum eligibility of 181,194 bidding units, and qualifying it to participate in the 800
MHz SMR auction.  Castle Tower listed the following licenses on which it may bid:
